Azerbaijan brings youth agenda to UN High-Level Political Forum

An Azerbaijani delegation led by Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports Indira Hajiyeva took part in a series of events held as part of the United Nations High-Level Political Forum in New York.

Participants discussed the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the role of young people in advancing them, Caliber.Az reports.

During the visit, Hajiyeva met with Felipe Paullier, Assistant Secretary-General for Youth Affairs and head of the UN Youth Office. The sides discussed prospects for cooperation and opportunities for Azerbaijani youth to participate in future UN internship programmes.

In addition, as part of Azerbaijan’s chairmanship of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA), a photo exhibition titled Volunteering in CICA Member States was opened on the sidelines of the forum.

The event “Best Practices in Volunteerism in CICA Member States” was also held during the gathering.
