Azerbaijan, Türkiye discuss military police cooperation

Azerbaijani Military Police Chief Major General Elgun Aliyev has held a meeting with Turkish Defence Minister Yaşar Güler during which the sides discussed how the friendly and brotherly relations between Azerbaijan and Türkiye continue to develop successfully, including in the field of military policing.

As part of the programme, the Azerbaijani delegation also met with the commander of Türkiye's Special Forces and the head of the Special Forces School, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.

During the meetings, Aliyev thanked the Turkish side for its support in developing Azerbaijan's military police system.

The delegation later observed a close protection training course conducted by the Turkish Armed Forces' Special Forces for personnel from Azerbaijan's Military Police protection unit.

The delegation also visited Ankara Central Command, where members received a briefing on the command's day-to-day activities and management systems.

The visit concluded with a graduation ceremony for the close protection course, during which participants demonstrated the theoretical knowledge and practical skills acquired during their training. Military Police personnel who completed the course were presented with certificates and commemorative gifts.
