Lithuanian president considers Wagner as threat in Belarus

Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda said that the presence of Russian mercenaries from PMC Wagner in Belarus is a serious threat.

“From the very first reports that a Wagner group could be deployed in Belarus, I immediately said that we cannot reject the threat,” Nauseda's statement is quoted by LRT.

In his opinion, the threat of provocations from the "Wagnerites" against Lithuania, Poland and Latvia is serious.

Nausėda added that after the attempted rebellion by Wagner in the Russian Federation, Lithuania took additional measures.

He assured that the situation is under control, and in case of provocations, the Lithuanian Armed Forces can come to the aid of the border guards.
