Macron assesses importance of upcoming EU summit for Ukraine
French President Emmanuel Macron said that the upcoming summit of the European Union (EU), which will be held in Brussels, will be decisive for Ukraine and other candidates for membership in the political union.
“We have to decide for Ukraine, Georgia, Moldova, and all the countries of the Western Balkans. The discussions that will take place tomorrow will be decisive,” TASS reports, citing Macron telling ahead of a meeting with Slovenian Prime Minister Robert Golob.
Earlier, the press service of the European Council, citing a letter to EU leaders from European Council President Charles Michel, reported that a discussion of Ukraine’s accession to the European Union and the allocation of €50 billion to Kyiv until 2027 is included in the agenda of the EU summit, scheduled for December 14–15.
