Monkeypox is a rare viral zoonotic disease, i.e. a disease transmitted to humans from animals.
The virus can enter the body through damaged skin, respiratory tract or through the eyes, nose and mouth.
The disease can be transmitted from person to person through prolonged close contact.
The main sign of the disease is a purulent rash that appears on the face and covers the entire body in a short time.
Prior to the manifestation of clinical symptoms of the disease, the patient and the persons in contact with him are not considered contagious.
