Musk says Neuralink chips embedded in brain to replace cell phones
People in the future will stop using phones, they will be replaced by Neuralink brain implants.
“There will be no phones in the future, only Neuralink chips,” he wrote on X (formerly Twitter), TASS reports, quoting Elon Musk as saying.
This is how Musk commented on a question posted on his parody page: “Would you like to embed a Neuralink interface in your brain to control the new phone made by X with your mind?” The author of the question liked Musk's idea, but he emphasized that in the future he would prefer to communicate using a chip from company X, rather than using the developments of the technology company OpenAI, which created ChatGPT, or the Meta corporation.
Not all platform users agreed with Musk's idea. One commenter wrote that he could not imagine “how you can implant something into your brain” if it is not caused by medical reasons. “It’s clear that using it [the chip] to help disabled people is great, but why would anyone need it if everything is fine? What kind of world are you building? - wrote another user X.
The startup Neuralink was created by Musk in July 2016 and is developing chips that can be implanted into the human brain. The businessman believes that such neural interfaces will allow a person to become a cyborg, capable of resisting artificial intelligence, and will also help people learn to directly control a computer using the power of thought.
