NASA: Cygnus spacecraft enters orbit
Northrop Grumman's Cygnus cargo spacecraft, launched to the International Space Station (ISS), has successfully entered orbit.
The launch was carried out using an Antares launch vehicle at 20:31 East Coast time from NASA's Wallops spaceport, located off the Atlantic coast of Virginia, Anadolu reports, citing the US National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).
The Cygnus spacecraft is scheduled to dock with the ISS on August 4.
It will be carried out by capturing the "truck" that has approached the station with the remote arm manipulator of the ISS Canadarm-2 and then attaching it to the American Unity module.
Cygnus is to deliver more than 3.7 tonnes of cargo to the ISS, including food, as well as equipment and materials for dozens of scientific studies.
The first successful launch of Cygnus took place on September 18, 2013..
