NATO jets to conduct exercises over Estonia
From November 10 to 16, NATO member states will carry out training flights over Estonian airspace.
The exercises will include low-altitude flights, though not below 152 metres, Caliber.Az reports, citing Estonian media.
Supersonic manoeuvres are also planned, which will be conducted at specially designated altitudes.
The alliance’s eastern‑flank nations — including Estonia — have been a focal point of NATO’s deterrence strategy ever since Russia annexed Crimea in 2014.
Estonia, along with Latvia and Lithuania, shares a border with Russia and hosts rotating NATO air‑ and ground‑assets as part of its enhanced forward presence.
Recent incidents underscore the strategic tension: in September 2025, Estonia reported that three Russian military jets violated its airspace for 12 minutes — an event the alliance viewed as a test of its readiness.
