Netanyahu stresses wars with Iran, Hamas, Hezbollah remain active “It’s never over”
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said that Israel’s conflicts with Iran, Hamas and Hezbollah are not over, while stressing that the country is stronger than ever.
“It’s never over. If you want to live in the Middle East – and in the world — you must be very strong,” Netanyahu said in an interview with Channel 14, as quoted by The Times of Israel, when asked whether the wars against Iran, Hamas and Hezbollah could be considered finished.
The prime minister nevertheless argued that Israel had achieved “enormous successes” on those fronts.
“Israel is stronger than ever, and we have pushed back these threats. We have greatly weakened them. We still have work to do… We need to deal with the remnants of the Iranian axis and seize opportunities for peace agreements,” he said.
Netanyahu did not specify which countries Israel may seek to reach agreements with.
“I’m not naming names because I want to deliver results. But everyone will see them….there are understandings with Lebanon that nobody foresaw. There are contacts with other countries as well. I can’t elaborate. When you are strong, people form alliances with you and make peace with you. <...> When you’re strong, people form alliances with you, and they make peace with you as well,” the prime minister added.
