PM: Revising peace terms with Azerbaijan would lead to inevitable war
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said that calls to revise the terms of peace with Azerbaijan amount to a path toward renewed conflict.
In remarks to parliament, Pashinyan referred to what he called the “three-headed party of war” (Kocharyan–Karapetyan–Tsarukyan), stating that its representatives are repeatedly advocating for revising the peace agreement with the aim of making it “better,” Caliber.Az reports via Armenian media.
“But who said that as a result of this revision the document will become better?” he asked.
Pashinyan warned that political forces using maps that include Karabakh and surrounding districts, along with related symbols and flags, are promoting a logic that would inevitably lead to war.
“Other forces speak under the same symbols and slogans, claiming that Armenia should not be limited to its internationally recognised territory of 29,743 square kilometres. The development of this logic also inevitably leads to war. There is no higher mathematics here; it is very simple logic, and we have seen it in the previous period of our history. This is not only theory, but reality,” he said.
