Media: IRGC claims missile strike on Jordan air base destroyed three US F-35 jets

30 July 2026 15:34

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has claimed that it carried out a missile strike on Al-Azraq Air Base in Jordan, saying the attack destroyed three US F-35 fighter jets and caused heavy damage to three others, Tasnim reports.

In a statement issued by the IRGC’s public relations department, the force said the strike was conducted in response to what it described as a US attack on residential homes on Iran’s Qeshm Island.

The statement said IRGC Aerospace Force units targeted areas used for the deployment and maintenance of F-35 aircraft at Al-Azraq with several ballistic missiles. It also claimed that several US military officers and technical personnel were killed in the attack.

The IRGC praised what it described as support from parts of Jordanian society, while criticising the presence of US forces in the region. It said its operations would continue until what it called the removal of American forces from Islamic countries.

Separately, Iran’s IRGC-affiliated Ansar al-Mahdi Corps in Zanjan province reported that three of its members were killed in what it described as a US missile strike on July 30, 2026.

The statement identified the deceased as Mahmoud Mollajabari, Mohammad Reza Cheraghi and Jamal Amiri, saying they were killed while defending Iran’s territory.
