PM: We should thank Ukrainians for protecting Moldova and whole of Europe
Moldovan Prime Minister Dorin Recean has stressed the interconnection between Ukraine's defence against Russian military aggression and the defence of their own country as well as the whole of Europe.
Speaking to reporters, the Moldovan prime minister had difficulty giving a clear answer to a question about the progress of the investigation after the missiles fell and were identified in the country, but noted that these missiles "fall here because of Russia's war and aggression in Ukraine", realitatea.md reports.
"We should thank Ukraine and Ukrainians for defending their homeland, defending us and all of Europe," Recean said.
Also, according to the prime minister, Moldova should strengthen its air defence capabilities.
The prime minister pointed out that although there were no missile overflights over Moldova on March 9, when Russia launched another attack against Ukraine, this "does not mean that it is not necessary to prepare for risks".
"The Republic of Moldova faces these challenges today, and we will continue to ensure peace and tranquillity. Let's focus and work each in our place," Recean said.
