Polish armed forces launch operations to bolster eastern border security
The Polish Armed Forces will launch two operations aimed at strengthening national security on the eastern border from August 1 in response to the influx of migrants from Belarus.
The operations, named Bezpieczne Podlasie (Safe Podlasie) and Wschodnia Zorza (Eastern Aurora), are strategic responses to threats posed by the migration pressure from the Belarusian regime and Russia’s military aggression against Ukraine, including air attacks on Ukraine's western regions, Caliber.Az reports citing the Ukrainian media.
These operations are crucial for enhancing national security and effective deterrence. The Bezpieczne Podlasie operation will focus on providing effective protection against illegal migration, while the Wschodnia Zorza operation will aim to bolster Poland's airspace security capabilities.
According to Polish Defence Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, the Wschodnia Zorza operation will cover the eastern and northeastern regions of Poland. It will involve continuous airspace monitoring, responding to detected violations, cooperating with allies, and conducting training exercises to maintain high operational readiness.
