Polish PM heads to Vatican to meet Pope Leo XIV with book as gift
Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk began a visit to the Vatican on May 7, bringing a book as a gift for Pope Leo XIV.
In a post on X, Tusk said he plans to present the pontiff with a gift during the audience — the Pentateuch in the Kashubian language, a unique West Slavic language spoken by the Kashubian minority in northern Poland, Caliber.Az reports.
Za chwilę rozpoczynam wizytę u Ojca Świętego Leona XIV. W podarunku wiozę Pięcioksiąg Mojżeszowy w języku kaszubskim. Mam nadzieję, że się ucieszy.

“I am starting my visit to the Holy Father Leo XIV. As a gift, I am bringing the Pentateuch in the Kashubian language. I hope he will like it,” he wrote.
According to Polish media, following the Vatican meeting, the prime minister is also scheduled to hold talks with his Italian counterpart Giorgia Meloni, focusing on bilateral relations.
In addition, Tusk will meet with the Vatican Secretary of State, Cardinal Pietro Parolin.
The visit comes amid international attention surrounding Pope Leo XIV, after former US President Donald Trump criticised him, saying he disagreed with his remarks on Iran’s nuclear programme and questioned his election.
