Polish PM, Pope Leo hold talks on Europe’s security shift, Ukraine crisis
Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk has stated that his meeting with Pope Leo XIV covered key international developments, with the situation in Ukraine among the topics discussed.
Speaking to reporters after the meeting, Tusk noted that a significant part of the conversation focused on the international agenda, including issues of security and defence in Europe, The Guardian reports.
The talks also covered the global order, as well as the armament of Poland and Europe, including discussions on Germany’s defence policy, the minister added.
Tusk also said that the possibility of a papal visit to Poland was raised, with 2028 mentioned as one of the options.
Later on Thursday, on May 7, the Polish prime minister is scheduled to meet with his Italian counterpart Giorgia Meloni.
