Polish president cancels meeting with Hungarian PM over latter's Moscow visit
Polish President Karol Nawrocki has cancelled a planned meeting with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán due to the latter’s recent trip to Moscow for talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The announcement was made by Marcin Przydacz, a spokesperson for the Polish president, on his X account, per Caliber.Az.
Przydacz emphasised that Nawrocki consistently advocates for finding practical solutions to the conflict between Moscow and Kyiv.
“Following the policy legacy of President Lech Kaczyński, who stressed that Europe’s security depends on coordinated action, including in the energy sector, and in light of Prime Minister Orbán’s visit to Moscow and its context, President Nawrocki has decided to limit his visit to Hungary exclusively to the Visegrad Group presidential summit in Esztergom,” Przydacz wrote.
Nawrocki is expected to discuss security and cooperation issues in Central Europe with the heads of state of the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Hungary.
