Poll in Armenia reveals widespread dissatisfaction with Pashinyan

05 November 2024 16:59

As of November 5, 2024, a recent sociological poll indicates that nearly 58% of Armenian citizens are dissatisfied with the performance of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

According to Aram Navasardyan, head of the Armenian office of the GALLUP International Association, who presented the survey results, 57.6% of participants expressed discontent with Pashinyan's leadership, Caliber.Az reports via Armenian media.

This includes 41.5% who are "definitely dissatisfied" and 16.1% who are "rather dissatisfied." Conversely, 34.5% of respondents rated the prime minister’s performance positively, with 14.1% "definitely satisfied" and 20.4% "rather satisfied." Additionally, 7.9% of participants were unsure how to respond.

The survey also revealed that the government as a whole received predominantly negative evaluations, with 35.4% of respondents criticizing its work, while only 13.5% viewed it positively. The activities of the Parliament and the President faced negative assessments from 43% and 39% of respondents, respectively, with just 8.6% rating them positively.

When asked about their voting intentions in a hypothetical parliamentary election held the following Sunday, 16.5% of respondents indicated they would support the "Civil Contract" party, while 6.4% favoured the "Armenia" bloc. Notably, 30.1% stated they would not participate in the elections, 17.1% found it difficult to decide, 11.5% declined to answer, and 4.6% said they would not vote for anyone.

The poll was conducted via telephone between October 24 and 30, involving 1,100 respondents.
