Prague in talks with Israel over advanced air defence purchases
The Czech Republic is in discussions with Israeli defence companies over the potential purchase of several advanced air defence systems, Czech Foreign Minister Petr Macinka said.
Speaking at a joint press conference with Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar, Macinka confirmed that Prague is evaluating a range of Israeli-made systems, including the Spyder and Arrow air defence platforms, The Jerusalem Post reports.
"Regarding the Spyder, yes, we are discussing air defense systems with Israel because these systems are technologically on top," Macinka said when asked about the prospect of acquiring Israeli defence equipment.
He added that the Czech Republic is considering the Spyder, Arrow, and other Israeli defence systems as part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen the country's air defence capabilities.
