Rail data points to growing demand for Russian energy
Rail shipments of key energy commodities from Russia are showing signs of growth amid ongoing shifts in the global energy market, according to the head of Russian Railways.
Speaking to journalists, Russian Railways chief Oleg Belozerov said that transportation volumes for coal, crude oil and petroleum products have recently accelerated, pointing to sustained foreign demand for Russian energy exports.
“We see that coal and oil, petroleum products have started moving a bit faster,” Belozerov said when asked about international demand for these resources.
He did not provide specific figures, noting that daily observations are not sufficient to draw firm conclusions. “The situation is visible every day, but each day is not an indicator, and an assessment should be made based on the results of the month,” he explained.
Despite the lack of detailed data, Belozerov indicated that the overall trend points to an increase in shipments. “Right now we see that there is some growth,” he added.
