Revanchist Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan hospitalized in Yerevan
Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan, leader of the opposition movement "Tavush for the Homeland," has been hospitalized in Yerevan for preventive care, according to his office.
A spokesperson from Galstanyan's office assured Russian media that there is no cause for concern.
"Vladyka Bagrat is at the Izmirlian Medical Centre in Yerevan. His hospitalization is purely precautionary, and he will be discharged soon," he stated, Caliber.Az reports.
The "Tavush for the Homeland" movement, led by Archbishop Galstanyan, has been actively demanding the resignation of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. The movement, known for its revanchist stance, initially focused on opposing the border delimitation and demarcation process with Azerbaijan in the Tavush region. However, on May 8, the movement shifted its focus, organizing large-scale rallies in Yerevan to call for Pashinyan's resignation.
As a leading figure in the movement, Archbishop Galstanyan, who heads the Tavush Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church, is a vocal critic of Pashinyan's policies and advocates for a more aggressive stance against Azerbaijan.
