Romania expects difficult winter, spring in 2027 amid ongoing energy crisis
Romanian State Secretary for Energy Cristian Bușoi is warning that the winter and spring of 2027 could be difficult due to persistently high energy prices, which are expected to remain elevated for an extended period.
He said that instability in the Middle East is likely to persist, which could further drive up energy prices during the winter and spring period, Caliber.Az reports, citing Romanian media.
“Anything that may happen there — any incident, any escalation — can immediately lead to a new rise in global prices… Of course, there are reserve stocks everywhere in Europe, but we are hit by price increases that trigger a chain reaction of rising costs and inflation,” he noted.
According to Bușoi, many analyses converge on the conclusion that, due to the destruction of some capacities, particularly in Qatar, energy prices will remain high.
“And we are facing a rather difficult winter and spring of 2027 in terms of natural gas prices,” Bușoi stressed.
