Russia hits Kyiv with missiles, drones Air defence downs 20 targets
Russian troops have launched a massive combined attack on Kyiv overnight. Air defence forces destroyed more than 20 air targets.
"Night air attack. Such a powerful attack Kyiv has not felt since spring. The enemy carried out a massive, combined attack using drones and missiles. At first, Russian troops used strike UAVs (tentatively, barrage Shahed munitions). Soon missiles launched from the Tu-95MS strategic aviation aircraft flew at the capital," according to Serhii Popko, Head of Kyiv City Military Administration, RBC-Ukraine reports.
According to him, over 20 air targets were destroyed by the forces and means of air defence. After the attack on the capital of Ukraine, the fall of debris in several areas was recorded.
“Unfortunately, people died. In the Shevchenkovsky district, on the territory of the enterprise, fragments of rockets killed two people, and another was injured. Also, as a result of the fall of rocket elements, destruction and fires occurred in the Shevchenkovsky and Darnitsky districts. Fires broke out in the places where they fell, and the State Emergency Service teams worked to put out the fires,” he added.
