Zelenskyy: Ukraine will not remain silent in face of Russian attacks
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has responded to Russia’s overnight strikes by insisting that there must be no silence in return.
In a statement published on the Telegram channel, Zelenskyy stressed the need for a firm and targeted response, highlighting the role of Ukraine’s long-range drones in delivering consequences for Russian aggression, Caliber.Az reports.
“There must be no silence in response to such attacks,” he wrote.
“And Ukraine’s long-range drones ensure that. Russian military plants, Russian logistics, and Russian airports must feel that Russia’s war brings real consequences for them.”
Zelenskyy added that the precision of Ukrainian drone strikes and the consistency of such operations were crucial tools in pushing for peace.
“The accuracy of our drones and the daily nature of Ukrainian responses are among the arguments that will undoubtedly bring peace closer,” he said.
To recall, Russia conducted a large-scale overnight assault on the Ukrainian cities of Dnipro and Kharkiv, using drones, missiles, and guided aerial bombs. In Dnipro and across the Dnipropetrovsk region, authorities reported fires, civilian casualties, and widespread damage.
Air defences intercepted seven missiles and 26 drones, but multiple strikes still hit civilian sites. One man was killed and several others wounded, including in a residential area and at industrial and commercial facilities.
In Kharkiv, Russian forces launched more than 20 strikes over three hours, including four guided bombs, two ballistic missiles, and 15 Shahed drones. Civilian infrastructure and rescue teams were among the targets, with fires reported throughout the city.
Five people were injured, including three emergency workers hit during a second wave of attacks. Local authorities have mobilised emergency and utility services to manage the aftermath.
