Ukraine's Fire Point nears ballistic missile completion, eyes tests on Russia
Denis Shtilerman, head of Ukrainian defence company Fire Point, stated that the development of a new ballistic missile is in its final stages, with engine testing and flight trials remaining before it can enter operational use.
“I think by autumn we will already be testing our missile on Russia. The first targets would be Moscow and some of its protected military facilities,” Shtilerman said.
His remarks come days after Russian air defence systems intercepted a Ukrainian FP-9 missile in the Moscow region on July 1.
The following day, Russia said its forces carried out a retaliatory strike that destroyed the Radionix defence plant, which it claimed produced guidance systems for Flamingo missiles and Fire Point weapons systems. According to Russian officials, the attack halted production at the facility.
