Russia lists French organisation FIDH as undesirable
The International Federation for Human Rights (FIDH) has been added to Russia’s list of undesirable organisations, Gazeta.Ru reports, citing materials on the website of the Russian Ministry of Justice.
Founded in France in 1992, FIDH was officially recognised as undesirable by Russia's Prosecutor General’s Office on November 13, with the Ministry of Justice issuing the order on December 1.
The reasons for granting the organisation this status were not specified.
On November 26, the Ministry of Justice declared two non-governmental organizations from the United States and the Netherlands undesirable. The list shows that the American NGO Free Peoples of Russia House was added to the list. The document also includes the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project, registered in the Netherlands.
