Iranian Kurdish opposition site comes under fire near Iraq’s Erbil
A headquarters belonging to an Iranian Kurdish opposition group came under attack near Iraq’s Erbil province on July 14, a local source told Shafaq News.
No immediate information was available regarding the nature of the attack or the extent of any casualties and material damage.
The incident is part of a series of recurring attacks that have targeted the headquarters and camps of Iranian Kurdish opposition parties located on the outskirts of Erbil and Sulaymaniyah in recent weeks. Most of the attacks were reportedly carried out using drones, although no group has officially claimed responsibility.
Attacks against these groups have intensified since the outbreak of the war against Iran on February 28.
During the early weeks of the conflict, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) publicly claimed responsibility for some of the strikes.
The Kurdistan Regional Government previously reported that 809 missile and drone attacks were recorded across the region between late February and April 20, 2026, resulting in 20 deaths and 123 injuries.
