Baghdad, Washington exchange views on escalating Middle East situation

Iraqi Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi met with US presidential envoy for Syria and Iraq Tom Barrack during a visit to Washington, where the two sides discussed economic cooperation, prospects for expanding bilateral relations, and developments in the Middle East.

According to the Iraqi government’s press service, the talks also focused on efforts to reduce regional tensions and Iraq’s role in mediation and crisis resolution.
