Russia wants to make presidential election voting three-day event
Chairman of the Central Election Commission Ella Pamfilova said that the CEC on December 8 will consider a draft decree on voting in the Russian presidential election within three days.
Earlier, the Federation Council set the presidential election in Russia for March 17, 2024, Gazeta.ru reports.
According to Pamfilova, it is necessary to prepare a procedure for the activities of international observers at the elections, the Russian side does not refuse them.
In addition, criteria for the use of remote electronic voting in Russia's regions will be prepared in the near future. The main criterion for this type of voting will be the tested experience.
At the same time, remote electronic voting in the presidential election will be held only in those regions where it has been held before to avoid risks, the CEC head said.
On November 22, the Russian Central Election Commission adopted resolutions approving the list of documents that candidates for the Russian presidency will have to submit to the CEC.
The incumbent head of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin has not yet announced what decision he has made regarding the upcoming presidential election, whether he will take part in it or not.
