Russian defence minister inspect production of IL-76MD-90A aircraft

Russian Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu has inspected the fulfilment of the state defence order for the production of military transport aircraft at the Ulyanovsk-based Il PJSC - Aviastar of the United Aircraft Corporation, which is part of Rostec.

In particular, the minister inspected the production of the IL-76MD-90A, as well as the repair of the An-124-100, Kommersant reports citing the Defense Ministry's press service.

"The Russian Defence Minister inspected the production process of IL-76MD-90A aircraft, as well as the repair and maintenance of An-124-100 aircraft," the report says.

After the inspection at the production facility, Shoigu held a meeting with the management of the United Aircraft Corporation.

"Taking into account the special military operation, the workload of military transport aviation has actually increased many times, we have surpassed the load that was on military transport aviation in the most stressful times of the Soviet Union almost twice," - said the minister at the meeting.

Last week, on October 6, Shoigu inspected the enterprise that produces and modernizes the Su-34: “Novosibirsk Aviation Plant named after V.P. Chkalov", which is also part of the United Aircraft Corporation.
