Speculation swirls around Trump’s health ahead of mysterious defence announcement
Rumours surrounding US President Donald Trump’s health have intensified following days of public silence and an unexpected press conference announcement scheduled for September 2.
Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt revealed that Trump will make “an exciting announcement related to the Department of Defence,” further fueling speculation after the president was not seen in public for several days, Caliber.Az reports, citing foreign media.
Though he appeared alive and well donning a gold USA baseball cap while entering a motorcade toward Trump National Golf Club, social media has turned its attention to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Washington, DC — the site where Trump was previously hospitalised with COVID-19 in 2020.
Circulating photos on X show apparent road closures near Walter Reed, prompting speculation about a possible emergency visit. However, no confirmation of official roadblocks was found, noting that only security-gated roads — typically closed at night — were shut.
Despite the speculation, Trump attempted to quell concerns with a post on Truth Social, writing: “Never felt better in my life.”
Adding intrigue, reports surfaced claiming former First Lady Melania Trump was seen at Walter Reed during an unscheduled visit.
Meanwhile, a mysterious video appearing to show someone throwing a black garbage bag out of a White House window has sparked further online debate, with one viewer commenting: “This can’t be legal.”
While Trump was notably absent from public view during the Labour Day weekend, his re-emergence today will likely either dispel or validate the speculation that has gripped parts of the internet.
