Russian intelligence: Brussels waging war against EU leaders supporting Trump
Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) has issued a statement saying Brussels is waging a war against European leaders who openly support US President Donald Trump.
“The European bureaucracy has declared war on "non-systemic leaders" who are open supporters of U.S. President Donald Trump and refuse to follow the dictates of the liberal elites in power within the EU,” Caliber.Az quotes the SVR press service as saying.
“In Brussels, there is significant concern that the new head of the White House may weaken the ‘European globalist superstructure’ and is relying in this effort on nationally oriented conservative leaders, such as Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico, and Romanian presidential candidate Cristian Georgescu,” the SVR said.
According to the information received by the SVR, the decision by the Romanian prosecutor's office to press charges against Georgescu comes from the EU leadership.
“European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, who played a key role in declaring the results of the first round of the Romanian presidential election in late 2024 invalid, demanded that the current authorities in Bucharest prevent Georgescu from participating in the second round of voting in May this year. She threatened to restrict Romania's access to EU funds if the representative of the "non-systemic forces" continued to run in the election campaign,” the press statement reads.
The statement reads that the European totalitarian-liberal elite is clearly fearful of a "conservative turn in Europe" under Trump's influence.
“In an effort to prevent such a scenario, Brussels is not hesitating to use any means. Following the ‘attack on Georgescu,’ it can be confidently predicted that there will be new attempts by the European liberal mainstream to suppress dissent within the EU. Their primary target will be Hungary, as the ‘bastion of European conservatism,’ with an opportune excuse being the parliamentary elections scheduled in the country next year,” the SVR said.
