Russian MFA proposes sending Macron materials on French colonial legacy
Maria Zakharova, the spokesperson for the Russian Foreign Ministry, recently advocated for the dissemination of information on French colonialism to French President Emmanuel Macron, Caliber.Az reports.
Writing on her Telegram channel, Zakharova underscored the foundation of French colonial policy on principles of racial and cultural superiority, wherein the French positioned themselves as bearers of superior values and beliefs.
In her statement, Zakharova emphasized the enduring negative impacts of France's colonial history. She highlighted that these policies led to widespread suffering, including millions of lives disrupted, political instability, economic stagnation, and significant environmental damage. These consequences, according to Zakharova, continue to resonate historically and have left a profound imprint on affected regions.
