Iran's supreme leader: Hamas's Operation Al-Aqsa Flood forces Israel to recall past conflicts
On October 7, 2023, the Palestinian HAMAS movement launched an attack on Israel, which the radicals called Operation Al-Aqsa Flood, said Supreme Leader of Iran Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
This event forced the Jewish state to once again remember the events of 70 years ago, Caliber.Az reports.
“Operation Al-Aqsa Flood threw the Zionist regime [meaning Israel] back to 70 years,” Khamenei said.
He did not specify why he indicated this particular time period. Reminding that in 1956, 68 years ago, the Suez Crisis occurred when Israel, Britain and France invaded Egypt to prevent the Egyptian authorities from nationalizing the Suez Canal.
After the diplomatic intervention of the USSR, USA and UN, the intrusive countries were forced to withdraw their troops from the Arab Republic, recognizing the nationalization of a strategically important trade method.
