Israeli army issues evacuation warnings for southern Beirut Amid ongoing airstrikes

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have issued an urgent evacuation warning to residents of Beirut, particularly in the southern neighborhoods of Burj al-Barajneh and Haret Hreik.

IDF Spokesman Avihai Edri urged residents to vacate their homes immediately and maintain a safe distance of at least 500 meters from the designated areas for their safety, Caliber.Az reports per Russian media.

This warning comes as the Israeli Air Force continues its airstrikes on Beirut and its suburbs, targeting numerous facilities associated with the Shiite organization Hezbollah.

The IDF reported that precision strikes were executed against weapons depots, command centers, and intelligence gathering facilities linked to Hezbollah.

The army assured that extensive measures were taken to minimize civilian casualties during these operations.

In related developments, US President Joe Biden commented on the broader context of regional tensions, specifically regarding Israel's potential military responses to Iranian targets.

Addressing questions at the White House, Biden indicated that Israel has yet to finalize any retaliatory strikes on Iran, emphasizing the importance of considering alternatives to direct attacks, particularly on nuclear facilities or oil fields.

The situation remains fluid as both Israeli military actions and diplomatic discussions continue to evolve in this tense regional landscape.
