Russian MP condemns Pashinyan for his anti-Russian statement
Member of the Russian State Duma Viktor Sobolev has said that Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan made a mean statement about the country's defense cooperation with Russia.
The parliamentarian reminded that there is a military base of the Russian Armed Forces in Armenia. NEWS.ru reports that commenting on Pashinyan's words that Moscow can no longer be Yerevan's key partner in defense and military-technical spheres, he said:
"I am shocked by this statement, as there are Russian military bases in Armenia: an air base, an entire division. And he makes such statements... apparently, they are strengthening anti-Russian activities in the Central Asian direction, in the Far East, in the Northwest. This was to be expected, but it is meanness on his part," Sobolev said.
Earlier in an interview with Armenian Public Radio, Pashinyan said that Russia "for objective and subjective" reasons can no longer be Armenia's main partner in defense and military-technical spheres. He noted that earlier 95-97 per cent of relations in the aforementioned spheres were with Russia.
