Azerbaijani FM pays tribute to Turkish ex-minister's late father in Alanya visit PHOTO
Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov paid a visit to the family of Turkish MP and former Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu following the passing of his father.
Bayramov visited the Çavuşoğlu family home in Alanya today and offered his condolences, Caliber.Az reports, citing Turkish media.
Numerous officials, parliamentarians, and public figures also came to pay their respects, including Türkiye’s Minister of Culture, Mehmet Ersoy.
Speaking to the press after his visit, Bayramov said he had come to Alanya to share the grief of his longtime friend and brother, Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu.
“We offer our condolences. May Allah rest the soul of Osman Çavuşoğlu. In Azerbaijan, Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu is deeply loved and respected. He has always placed special importance on strengthening Azerbaijan-Türkiye relations. Today, we are here to convey our condolences on behalf of the entire Azerbaijani people,” the minister said.
Osman Çavuşoğlu, Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu’s father, passed away on April 17 at the age of 93. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev also sent a letter of condolence to the former Turkish foreign minister.
