Russian spy network neutralised in Kyiv
The Security Service of Ukraine has conducted a multi-stage special operation, during which it neutralised the Russian intelligence network in Kyiv.
Russian spies collected intelligence on the defence of the Ukrainian capital, RBC-Ukraine reports citing the Security Service.
“As a result of operational actions, 4 Russian agents were detained. They reconnoitered the positions of Ukraine’s Armed Forces, and the geolocation of strategic facilities, and urged Ukrainians to support the invaders. The enemy group was formed by Russia’s Main Intelligence Directorate staffer Colonel Vladislav Donets to carry out explosive activities against Ukraine,” the message says.
According to the investigation, Donets was part of the occupation group of Russia in the Kyiv and Chernihiv regions and coordinated the activities of Russian agents.
The undercover group was activated at the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Russia.
So, two residents of Kyiv scouted the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the location of critical infrastructure facilities. Another resident of the capital, who turned out to be a former law enforcement officer of the Donetsk region, was responsible for the informational propaganda distributed through the Internet platform.
During the searches, pro-Russian symbols, means of communication, and electronic media with information were found on the malefactors.
The issue of informing detainees about suspicions under Part 2 of Art. 111 (high treason under the conditions of the EaP) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Spies are currently in custody.
