Serbian president pledges to increase assistance to Ukraine
Serbia supports Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity and intends to expand cooperation with Kyiv in the humanitarian sphere, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic has said at the Ukraine–Southeast Europe summit in Kyiv.
He noted that Belgrade would continue assisting Ukraine, including financial and medical aid, as well as support for the country's energy sector, Caliber.Az reports, citing Ukrainian media.
"I am not very satisfied with everything we have done so far, because there is one promise that we have not yet fulfilled, but we will correct that in the near future," he added.
The Serbian president also announced plans to assist in the reconstruction of a Ukrainian city.
"So far, we have not made significant progress, and we will do everything possible to devote ourselves even more to this cause and achieve the best possible results for the Ukrainian people in this city," Vucic remarked, without specifying which city he was referring to.
In addition, the Serbian leader expressed support for Ukraine's path toward membership in the European Union.
"We will never say: 'All right, you came after us, and we should be the leaders.' Ukraine, Moldova and all the other so-called distant countries can always count on Serbia's support," Vucic stressed, as quoted by Politika.
