The launch took place from Space Launch Complex 40 at the U.S. Space Force Base on Cape Canaveral, Florida, per Caliber.Az,
Developed by Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) at the request of the Israeli government, the satellite is valued at approximately $200 million, according to i24 News. It is designed for a planned operational lifespan of 15 years.
Once fully deployed, Dror-1 will take up a fixed geostationary position 36,000 kilometres above Earth. It is expected to reach its designated orbit within two weeks of launch.
The satellite is intended to serve both civilian and military purposes, enhancing Israel’s communications infrastructure and reducing reliance on foreign satellite systems.
