Zelenskyy calls for prosecutor general’s dismissal

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has called for the dismissal of Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko, sharply criticising comments made by the prosecutor in a video address on September 14.

“There is only one path for this Prosecutor General: dismissal from office. That is exactly what I told him. Ukraine has seen all the reasons,” Zelenskyy said, Ukrainian media reports.

Responding to Kravchenko’s suggestion that his dismissal could constitute political pressure, Zelenskyy said: “If he considers this to be political pressure, let him call it that.”

The Ukrainian president also called on lawmakers to support Kravchenko’s dismissal without delay.
