Saudi Arabia amends draft Hormuz deal proposed by Oman, Iran

Saudi Arabia has amended a draft agreement on the Strait of Hormuz proposed by Oman and Iran, Axios correspondent Barak Ravid reports, citing a senior official from one of the Gulf states.

According to the official, Riyadh raised concerns that the original wording could effectively cement a new status quo in the strategically important strait.

Such an arrangement would be unacceptable to Saudi Arabia and other countries in the region, the official said.
