Hungary's Tisza Party wins decisive parliamentary majority with 141 seats Election results show
Hungarian opposition party Tisza Party, led by MEP Péter Magyar, has won a decisive victory in Hungary’s parliamentary elections, securing 141 out of 199 seats in the National Assembly.
According to the National Election Office (NEO), which completed the counting of 100% of votes, the ruling coalition led by Prime Minister Viktor Orbán—comprising the Fidesz–Hungarian Civic Alliance and the Christian Democratic People’s Party—won only 52 seats.
The far-right “Our Homeland” party, led by László Toroczkai, retained six seats, while other parties failed to pass the 5% electoral threshold required for parliamentary representation.
The Tisza Party, which consolidated much of the former opposition electorate, won both party-list and single-member district contests. The result came as a surprise to Fidesz and most political analysts, with observers noting widespread voter dissatisfaction after 16 years of Orbán’s rule and a strong demand for political change among Hungarian voters.
