Trump deploys elite Night Stalkers unit to Venezuela border
U.S. President Donald Trump has sent an elite Army unit to the border with Venezuela — the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment, known as the Night Stalkers, according to a report by The New York Post.
The unit specialises in high-risk operations, using attack helicopters to rapidly deploy special forces into conflict zones.
Maduro claims to have mobilised a million-strong militia and is warning the population that Trump is preparing to invade.
Military experts say the true size of Venezuela’s army is just 125,000 soldiers, and its rusty Soviet-era hardware stands no chance against America's warfighting machine.
Trump has deployed B-52 nuclear bombers, guided missile destroyers, F-35B fighter jets, P-8 Poseidon spy planes, a nuclear submarine and around 6,500 troops.
