Trump pardons dozens linked to 2020 election interference
U.S. President Donald Trump has signed an executive order granting pardons to dozens of individuals accused of involvement in efforts to interfere with the 2020 presidential election.
The announcement was made by Pardon Attorney Ed Martin on X, per Caliber.Az.
According to Martin, the list of pardoned individuals includes—but is not limited to—former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani and former White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows.
The order explicitly states that the pardon does not extend to President Trump himself.
In April last year, a grand jury in Arizona charged a group of Trump supporters, including Giuliani, with alleged attempts to overturn the 2020 election results. At least 11 people were named in the indictments.
The events of January 6, 2021, when Trump supporters stormed the U.S. Capitol to block certification of the election results, led to hundreds of arrests and served as the basis for Trump’s second impeachment. Shortly after his inauguration in 2025, Trump signed an executive order pardoning around 1,500 individuals convicted in connection with the Capitol riot.
