Trump released from custody

Former US President Donald Trump has been released from custody following charges, CNN reported on April 4, per TASS.

Trump was able to freely leave the courtroom.

He was not expected to be jailed following the charges, but he ended up in custody for about two hours, well over the 20 to 30 minutes the defence had expected.

Trump left the courthouse, where he was charged in the case of forgery of financial documents of the Trump Organization in the payment of money to former pornographic actress Stormy Daniels, a TASS correspondent reports.

Earlier, the ex-president was charged with 34 counts, but the politician said he did not plead guilty. Thus, Trump became the first former president in US history to be charged with a criminal offence.
