Turkish MFA congratulates Turkic states on 15th anniversary of cooperation
The Turkish Foreign Ministry congratulated the Turkic world on the occasion of the 15th anniversary of the signing of the Nakhchivan Agreement, which laid the foundation for the establishment of the Organization of Turkic States.
“On the occasion of the 15th anniversary of the signing of the Nakhchivan Agreement, the founding document of the Organization of Turkic States, we proudly celebrate the whole Turkic World on the ‘Turkic States’ Cooperation Day,” Caliber.Az reports, citing the ministry's X page.
The ministry then said it would continue to work with determination to implement the motto of “Unity in Language, Opinion, Work” among Turkic States.
During the 9th Summit held in Nakhchivan; Türkiye, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan signed "the Nakhchivan Agreement on the Establishment of the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States" on October 3, 2009 intending to institutionalize the current process. The structure of the Council called "The Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States" or "Turkic Council" in short, consists of the Council of Heads of States, the Council of Foreign Ministers, the Senior Officials Committee, the Council of Elders and the Secretariat with headquarters in Istanbul.
