Azerbaijan and Israel reaffirmed their commitment to deepening cooperation across a range of sectors during a high-level meeting in Baku between Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and Israel’s newly appointed Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Ronen Krausz on August 1.

The meeting, which marked the official start of Krausz’s diplomatic mission, started with Ambassador Krausz presenting a copy of his credentials to Minister Bayramov, Caliber.Az reports via Azerbaijan's Foreign Ministry.

The sides held discussions on strengthening bilateral and multilateral ties, with a particular focus on political, economic, security, and humanitarian cooperation.

Minister Bayramov congratulated the ambassador on his appointment and wished him success in his diplomatic role in the country.

It was noted that the tense situation in the Middle East is a matter of serious concern, and that Azerbaijan calls for the establishment of peace and stability in the region and remains ready to contribute to this process at all times.

The newly appointed ambassador emphasised that he would spare no effort to further expand cooperation between the two countries during his tenure.

The meeting concluded with an exchange of views on a range of international and regional issues of mutual interest.
