Oceania activist: Baku dealt significant blow to neocolonialism
19 February 2026 10:57
International events hosted in Azerbaijan have already delivered a significant blow to neocolonialism, according to an activist from Oceania.
Speaking at the ongoing conference in Baku, “Neocolonialism and Global Inequality”, Oriane Cingone Trolue, a member of the advisory council of the Oceania Independence Movement and representative of New Caledonia, highlighted the political ramifications of neocolonialism, Caliber.Az reports.
She stressed that its effects are evident in the systematic suppression and infringement of the rights and freedoms of indigenous populations, as well as the broader stifling of democratic aspirations.
