Shahin Mustafayev, Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan, is expected to undertake an official visit to Iran shortly, aimed at further enhancing bilateral economic cooperation.

The announcement was made during a meeting in Turkmenbashi with Farzaneh Sadeghi, Iran’s Minister of Roads and Urban Development, Caliber.Az reports per local media.

As co-chairs of the Azerbaijan-Iran Joint Commission on Economic Cooperation, the two officials discussed the ongoing development of economic and administrative collaboration between the two countries, with particular emphasis on advancing cross-border infrastructure projects.

Both parties underlined the importance of expediting the realisation of joint initiatives, notably the construction of the Astara border terminal and the development of cross-border bridges.

An agreement was reached for Deputy Prime Minister Mustafayev to visit the Iranian city of Astara to review the progress of these projects on-site.

The forthcoming visit will also include discussions on broader economic matters, facilitating negotiations, and exchanging perspectives to ensure the smooth advancement of these cooperative efforts.
