Azerbaijani Deputy PM to visit Iran to strengthen economic cooperation
Shahin Mustafayev, Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan, is expected to undertake an official visit to Iran shortly, aimed at further enhancing bilateral economic cooperation.
The announcement was made during a meeting in Turkmenbashi with Farzaneh Sadeghi, Iran’s Minister of Roads and Urban Development, Caliber.Az reports per local media.
As co-chairs of the Azerbaijan-Iran Joint Commission on Economic Cooperation, the two officials discussed the ongoing development of economic and administrative collaboration between the two countries, with particular emphasis on advancing cross-border infrastructure projects.
Both parties underlined the importance of expediting the realisation of joint initiatives, notably the construction of the Astara border terminal and the development of cross-border bridges.
An agreement was reached for Deputy Prime Minister Mustafayev to visit the Iranian city of Astara to review the progress of these projects on-site.
The forthcoming visit will also include discussions on broader economic matters, facilitating negotiations, and exchanging perspectives to ensure the smooth advancement of these cooperative efforts.
