Turkish special services neutralise PKK leader in Iraq PHOTO
Türkiye’s National Intelligence Organisation (MİT) has neutralised the so-called head of the PKK terrorist organisation in the in Sinjar province in northern Iraq Mesut Jalal Osman.
Mesut Jalal Osman, codenamed "Zagros Cekdar," one of the leaders of the PKK in Sinjar, joined the organisation in Syria in 2010, TRT Haber reports.
An active member of the organisation's youth strands, Osman received military training in northern Iraq and returned to Syria in 2015. He led the terrorist organisation's militant attacks and recruited young men in Syria at gunpoint.
Mesut Jalal Osman travelled to Iraq in 2018 and underwent a 6-month training course. As of 2023, he was one of the ringleaders of the PKK in Sinjar.
Mesut Jalal Osman, a member of the terrorist organisation, was neutralised in an operation conducted by MİT when he was on his way to a meeting to discuss measures to be taken against MİT employees in the region.
